(WASHINGTON – May 14, 2015) “The revised House TSCA discussion draft is another sign that chemical safety reform is set to move this Congress. We thank the members of the Committee for their continued bipartisan work. EDF looks forward to working with all Members of Congress to ensure that the final legislation the President signs into law establishes a strong overall system of protection from dangerous chemicals, and provides for timely safety reviews for all new and existing chemicals against a purely health-based standard, strong testing authority for EPA, broadened transparency and information access, adequate resources, and robust authority for EPA to regulate chemicals presenting risks to the public.”
With more than 3 million members, Environmental Defense Fund creates transformational solutions to the most serious environmental problems. To do so, EDF links science, economics, law, and innovative private-sector partnerships to turn solutions into action. edf.org
